8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

Cross Section Episode 1
This is the first in what I hope will become a bimonthly podcast. (Or more frequently if it becomes successful.) Each podcast will be a short devotional usually around 5 minutes or less, in which I will discuss various topics that pertain to Christian life, while relating those topics to the central focus of Christianity, chiefly Christ and his work on the cross. If this podcast is helpful to you please share it as widely as possible.
The wonderful instrumental rendition of Before the Throne of God Above used as the intro music was arranged and performed by my lovely wife Richelle.
Remember, Remember the 4th Thursday of November.
Remember, Remember the 4th Thursday of November.
By Daniel Shultz
As we feast
on turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and sweet potatoes; as we sit down to
watch the Lion and Cowboys lose and the Packers win; as we spend time with our
families watching parades and reminiscing let us actually take time to honor
the real meaning and purpose of a national day set aside for Thanksgiving. This
Thankfulness should be directed toward God.
As the purpose of giving thanks is not merely a secular appreciation to one’s
family but instead is an intrinsically religious action. Nothing in life is
separated from the religious. For the Christian we should recognize that
everything we do must be impacted and affected by our faith.

The Impropriety of Reality
By Daniel Shultz
Perhaps there is no special way to start an article about this subject, or perhaps instead I should quote some bible verses about sexual purity, or maybe still some about gossip. I’m not really sure I know what I want to say as I begin to write today. One thing is very clear to me, and that is that I am saddened.
